We all hope for safety within our
neighborhood, our city, our state and certainly our country. One of the reasons, if not the reason, people
and families are streaming north from Central America is the lack of safety due
to gangs and the drug culture. People
simply want to live, work, raise their families, educate their children. The
drug culture does not allow that to happen. With that in mind, let’s take a look at safety
world-wide. We do by accessing the Global
Peace Index or GPI.

The Global Peace Index has just published
the thirteenth edition of their index which ranks one hundred and sixty-three (163)
independent states and territories according to their level of peacefulness.
